Poem: 'Wipe Away Dogs' by James K. Blaylock

Wipe Away Dogs
by James K. Blaylock

they wander through the doors with their best suits, and ties, and smiles, in-fleck, pretend to be poised, posing
meanwhile, God sees those hateful hearts beneath their bitter ribcages; beating everyone to death by way
of wagging tongues, just waging wars and broken bones, placing worthless wagers on everybody's appearances
whenever, really, they're a foul stench in the nostrils of all those heavenlies, mongrel zombies passing rotten lies
it's best to check oneself than to open one's dirty mouth and plankeyes in another's direction - wipe away dogs
